Holly currently serves as the Executive Director of Clinical Operations and Community Health for OU Physicians and OU Children's Physicians in Oklahoma City where she is responsible for the ambulatory operations for over 65 ambulatory clinics, working alongside 900 credentialed providers and over 1,100 staff members. Under Holly’s leadership as the organization’s chief operating officer for ambulatory services, OU Physicians has seen significant improvements in patient satisfaction, clinic operations, and employee and physician engagement as a result of an enterprise wide commitment to and focus on service excellence.
Holly has 18 years of healthcare experience in large academic medical center environments to include leadership roles with Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, The University of Texas Health System, and Saint Louis University/SLUCare. While at Tulane University Hospital & Clinic, Holly provided valuable leadership post Hurricane Katrina in the rebuilding of the hospital’s ambulatory care network. At the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler, Holly led the hospital's outpatient clinics from the 50th to the 78th percentile in national patient satisfaction. During her time at OU Physicians, Holly has helped lead the group practice from the 12th to as high as the 89th percentile in national patient satisfaction and 93rd percentile when compared to other academic medical groups. Employee engagement has skyrocketed at OU Physicians, with a current national ranking at the 93rd percentile. Holly credits the work done to hardwire standards of behavior and leader accountability systems as critical foundation elements to the organization’s ability to realize operational improvements.
OU Physicians has been recognized by Press Ganey Associates for the dramatic turnaround in patient service as well as being named Healthcare Organization of the Month by the Studer Group. Holly authored the article, “How an Academic Medical Organization Met the Challenge of Service Excellence”, recently published in Press Ganey’s Partner Magazine and available as a case study on the Press Ganey website. In July 2011, Holly led OU Physicians to implement the new voluntary CGCAHPS survey in all OU Physicians ambulatory locations and has gained valuable experience in the design, implementation, and reporting of patient experience using the CGCAHPS survey. To date, OUP has collected over 75,000 completed CGCAHPS surveys from patients with results in the top national quartile.
Holly received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, and her Master of Healthcare Administration from Saint Louis University School of Public Health. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Medical Practice Executives. As a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma’s Class XVIII, Holly was also named one of Oklahoma City’s Top 40 under 40 executives, and was honored with the OU Medicine EXCEL Award for 2010. Holly is originally from Gleason, Tennessee and currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma, with her husband, Jay and their six children.
